Course Description

In biology, students will build a strong biological and scientific foundation.  Topics covered in this course include scientific experimentation, cells, DNA, genetics, ecology, biological adaptations, behaviors and diversity.   This class will utilize many methods of instruction such as projects, group work, laboratory work, classwork, simulations, demonstrations and reading assignments to help students achieve a quality understanding of Biology and the nature of science.  Students will leave this class with the ability to think critically and effectively as well as have a better understanding for and appreciation of the functions of living things.
